District Governor 2021-22  Kirk Bouchie

     

Kirk Bouchie became a member of the Vincennes, Indiana Rotary Club in 1987 and served as President in 1997-1998 and 2016-2017.  In the 107-year history of the Vincennes Rotary Club, he is the only Vincennes Rotarian to have served as President for two terms.  Kirk received the Vincennes Rotarian of the Year Award in 2019.  He has completed all three sessions of the Rotary Leadership Institute.  He serves as the club’s $52 for 52 Raffle chair, which raises significant funds annually for club philanthropy through the Vincennes Rotary Foundation.  Kirk and his wife, Becky, are multiple Paul Harris Fellows. 

 

Kirk was born and raised in Vincennes, Indiana.  Kirk is the eighth generation of the Bouchie family in Vincennes dating back to about 1760.  Kirk and Becky have two sons, Doug and David.  Doug and his wife, Samantha, live in Westfield, Indiana with their children, Cora, Damon and Bennett.  David and his wife, Meghan, live in Vincennes with their children, Landon and Graham.  Kirk and Becky have two granddogs, Ozzie and Dagny.

 

Kirk graduated from Vincennes Lincoln High School in 1976 and Vincennes University with an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration in 1978.  He was admitted to the Honor’s Program at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.  He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Economics and Public Policy in 1980 and Master of Business Administration Degree in Finance in 1981.

 

In December 2004, Kirk became the General Manager of Vincennes Water Utilities.  His responsibilities include overall management of the drinking water, wastewater, storm water, and levee operations for the Vincennes community.   Prior to joining Vincennes Water Utilities, Kirk had 24 years of commercial banking experience in Dallas, Texas, Indianapolis, and Vincennes, Indiana.

 

Upon returning to Vincennes in 1987, Kirk became a Board Member of the Knox County Development Corporation, Vincennes University Foundation, Vincennes YMCA, and the Vincennes Cub League, where he has served as President since 1998.  He recently joined the Board of the Grouseland Foundation.  He has also served on the Boards of the Vincennes Community School Corporation, the Knox County Chamber of Commerce, Vincennes Lincoln High School Academic Society (founding member) and Athletic Booster Clubs.

 

Kirk is a member of the National Advisory Board of Directors for Babe Ruth League, Inc. and is a member of the Indiana Babe Ruth League Hall of Fame.  Kirk attends St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, is a member of the Vincennes Elks, and the Knights of Columbus.

 

Kirk is the recipient of several awards including the State of Indiana Sagamore of the Wabash in 2004, the 2018 Knox County Chamber of Commerce – C. J. McCormick Community Leader of the Year Award,  American Water Works Association Water Wheel Award in 2018,  Vincennes Lincoln High School Outstanding Alumni Award in 2004, Knox County Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year in 2002, Indiana Jaycees Outstanding Young Hoosier Award in 1996, Vincennes University Recent Outstanding Alumni Award in 1987, and the Lionel D. Edie Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Student in Business Economics at Indiana University in 1980.
